It was nearing 6:30 and twilight was coming. The sun was setting in the distance on the lake and to Isabella, it couldn't have been more beautiful. Smiling lightly, she walked in her sandal down the pier. The small breeze that came off the lake, made her hair bounce as she walked, ruffling it lightly. She was in her swimsuit, covered by a very thin white robe. Reaching the end of the pier, she looked down into the water and saw her reflection. Leaning against on of the posts to tie your boat to, her eyes skimmed the horizon.

Holden walked on the pier. He wore: a black shirt with white words Aiden, a three row black pyramid studded belt, baggy blue jeans, black and white checkered Vans. It was getting dark. He sighed and kept walking on the pier. Holden sat at the edge of the pier and looked into the water.

Isabella heard footsteps behind her and she quickly turned. In the distance she could see a man approaching and she looked at him curiously. Her eyes quickly turned to the horizon once more, watching as the last of the sun set, putting the two of them into twilight. Her eyes glanced at him. "Peaceful isnt it?" She said softly.

"Uh huh." Holden didn't even look at the girl. He kept looking at the water. Hold wasn't much of a sunset person. He looked to her and looked back at the water.

Hearing his very vague response, she looked over at him with curious eyes. Deciding best to leave it alone, she looked around at the vacant darkness and sighed to herself. She felt his eyes on her and then she looked back over, only briefly meeting his. "I'm Isabella Marie...but most people just call me Marie..." She said, smiling lightly to him.

"Nice name. Holden Caulfield." Holden laid down on the wood. There was nothing else to really do. "Why are you out on the pier?"

"Thanks." She smiled sweetly at his compliment and then heard his name. "Same to you." Her eyes skimmed over his frame as he laid down on the wood. Hearing his question, she looked out over the now dark horizon. "Needed some time to think. You?" She asked.

"Get away from the shop and walk around and get exercise besides moving wrenches." Holden closed his eyes and listened to her speak and the water below the pier. He got up and leaned on his elbows. "At least it isn't raining." That was stupid. At least it's not raining. How stupid can you get?

She smiled down at him at his response to the question. Her eyes watched as he leaned up on his elbows then laughed at what he said. "Yes, that is a plus. But...I actually enjoy the rain." She said quietly with a small blush. "So you work on cars I assume?"

He smiled. "Yeah. I do the paint and make them look nice on the outside and tune them." Holden looked up at her. "What do you do?"

She nodded at what he said about the cars. It seemed like a pretty nice job to have. "Very nice." A smile lay on her lips. "I'm an assisstant massuse at the Gentle Touch Massage Center." Alright so it wasnt the greatest job in the world. But it got her some money so she wouldnt have to pry off her father.

"That's cool. As long as you enjoy it. Don't do anything you don't enjoy or it's no fun." The night came and the stars came out.

She nodded and smiled towards him. "I do. It's a nice job to have." Smiling reassuringly, her eyes moved from his to the stars that had just come into sight. They were beautiful. Calming. Looking back towards him, she asked. "So, Holden...do you race?"

He looked at her when she mentioned the word race. "Maybe.," he smiled. "Have you ever been to a race?" Holden got up and stood on his feet.

She saw him perk up at her question and she laughed lightly at his answer. Hearing his question though, a frown played upon her lips and she shook her head. "I'm sorry to say I haven't." She had always wanted to, but it seemed like she never had the time for them.
